The vast majority of students finish their classes in less than two years, and some can earn their diploma or certificate in well under a year.

The vast majority of standard universities do not have a major in culinary arts or cooking. Most students find themselves training at a trade training college or institution which focuses on the culinary arts.

One or two Colorado colleges or schools may offer up programs in key food preparation skills, advanced chef techniques, desserts, kitchen operation guidance together with restaurant management.

These schools generally provide class sessions during the day along with the evening. Some lessons are taught in standard classroom style delivery, but a majority are hands-on lessons presented in a version of commercial food preparation spaces complete with all the equipment and gadgets employed in functioning restaurants.
